Hi,
I am standing on my last leg with searchability & my email privacy.

I have already had to quit my main identity of years. I created this one as a last ditch effort to stay on tribe.
I think I should have a checkbox to say whether I can be found by my email address in member searches.
I want to avoid peepers & spying.
Can this be done now?
Are there any plans to do it in the future?

but in the mean time why not make a new secret e-mail and use that for tribe? you can even change it for your profile you already have. -

I do use and give out this email also.
Perhaps I need yet another email used only for this purpose.
Anyway, It would still be a nice privacy feature to let me decide how I am found.

changed it.
This is good because I was really going to quit tribe because of some peoples voyeurisms.
I am not a stealthy person at all, but this is necessary for me to be able to discuss
ideas freely here. -

I can see how alts or private profiles can be really great for some people. And some of us have stalkery people we don't want to find us. -

Thu, August 31, 2006 - 5:25 PMWhoa... I just figured out how to search by email addresses. I did not know you could search by email. I am glad when I first joined tribe I used a dummy address just for tribe which no one uses. I would suggest doing the same.
As for them having an option to not search by your email I would agree. They need to block that. I always thought this this was anonymous, but now I see a vulnerablilty. You coud have a program sit here and enter random email addresses and create a database matching the email address to the profile or it could take a list of known email addresses and match them to profiles. Either way you would have a public database of the profile email addresses. I do not like that at all.
