how do i change my profile email???

ok--i searched this tribe to no avail, so i have a quandry........i've tried changing my email address, but i just does not work. i'm dropping the ISP my old e-mail is on, so i need to update that. i get the message in my new e-mail saying i should click on the link to change, and when i do that , it won't let me in with my new email address, but it will with my old one. any tips, anyone? please help!!
